Green Deal - The Real Deal
The Climate Change Act 2008 committed the UK to reduce carbon emissions by at least 34% by 2020 and 80% by 2050 (below the 1990 baseline). In Scotland the Climate Change (Scotland) Act sets even more ambitious targets to reduce carbon emissions by 42% by 2020 and 80% by 2050 (using a 1990 baseline). The Green Deal is designed to assist the UK in meeting its carbon reduction measures which are the key part of the legislation.
